Scam 'agencies'

The basic test is really, really simple:

Does the 'agency' you are considering joining want ANY money from you before you have cash in your hand from a client?

If the answer is yes, it's a scam. (And if it's one not mentioned here, feel free to name and shame it. We particularly like hearing from you if you have not given the scammers any money.)

The only legit sites that charge up front are open about being ad sites: you pay them money, they display your ad, and - you hope - clients contact you directly. They tend to charge no more than tens of pounds by the month, not the hundreds for a year of the scams. (Free ad sites also exist who make their money from charging for extras, whether that is more prominent placing of your ad or allowing you to sell things via the site.)

In contrast, scams typically pretend that they need to charge you for registration / identity checks / insurance / anything else they can think of. Crap. They also say they will deal with potential clients and all the other things real agencies do. Reading a typical scam's terms and conditions, what they actually 'supply' is an ad only you can see. Obviously, you're not going to get any work from that, but once they have your money - typically only cash paid into a bank, something you can't get back, will do - they are too busy laughing all the way to the bank to care.

every esort agency i have applied for asks me to pay money into a bank account and then say they will set me up with clients.....i am totally new to this and i don't know whether i am being lied to! Are Diamond UK genuine?? Please help.

Diamond UK

Scam. Along with ALL the others asking you for money upfront.

Diamonduk.info is rubbish as an agency site (you cannot even search for someone local for example), but you can see the ads of its victims. When I finally found their terms and conditions, they were in centered, tiny size text, not particularly literate ("if you choose to become to enter the Web site" in the bit which would be used as an excuse not to refund your money), showed no understanding of industry realities (clients rarely call agencies wanting an escort in seven days - they want one now), and includes a string of disclaimers saying they can lie to you on the phone and that "For the avoidance of doubt, we shall not be liable in the event you receive no request from Clients or if Clients do not view your profiles."

Given the other scams where some of those T&C have been taken from, I would not be amazed if any potential client were expected to join the site too before being allowed to try to book anyone.

How much were they after? Did they want it in cash too, rather than the credit cards they accept in their (overpriced) store?

If you understand that escorting involves being sexual with men, then it should not be too hard to find a real agency. Have a read of the wonderful saafe.info site and look where a potential client would look to find them.

If you're looking for non-sexual escorting, I'm afraid you're wasting your time. How many men do you really think want to pay the amounts promised by the scams for taking you out to dinner? Even if it's not zero, it's still way too low for a non-sexual agency to be a viable business.

He wanted £380 paid into a Natwest account, i said i would pay it tomorrow. I just called and he was pretty vague and said he can't guarantee wok but if i am good at what i do then i should earn? I mentioned commission instead but he said that was illegal. Is he telling porkies?

Posted by Rachel on 04 Feb 10

Diamond UK

Yes, he's lying.

The thing real agencies do that is illegal is 'control prostitution for gain' - as simple as telling you where the client is - whether they take commission or make their money elsewhere.

Ad sites are legal, and for £380 you could have over three years of ads on one major 'punter' site, with no commitment beyond the month paid for. As it says above, "free ad sites also exist", and the main one of these will also be seen by far more eyes than diamonduk.info.

If you are ok about being sexual with men, see you over at saafe.info soon.

Thanks so much, I was feeling a bit lost! This website is fantastic, so helpful! I have checked out saafe and been on punterslink and applied for a few vacancies advertised on links there so i should be ok now hopefully! Thanks again!

Diamond UK

Yay!

I was wondering if I had heard of them before, and checking here, in July 08, they had "just over forty male victims and about twenty female ones." Today, they've got just over 120 male victims, and.. about twenty female ones.

I wish I had kept a copy of the site then, to see if the details were the same, but 80 x £380 over 18 months is about £20k a year for this bunch of scammers alone :(

Posted by Richard on 04 Feb 10

Hi. Have you heard of a company called fleurs? I am new to this and they say i can have a beginners course for £49 (optional. the registration amount is maximum £55 and then £5 per month after to circulate my details. What do you think to that?????

Posted by Tom J on 03 Mar 10

Fleursescorts.com

See elsewhere. They might be a cheaper scam than some of the others, but Fleurs a) wants money off you, b) pretends there is a non-sexual escort market, and c) pretends that there is a non-sexual straight male one.

Scam, nope, and nope.

ESCORT SCAM

Escort scam 02080 902798

Escort scam www.7thheavenescorts.co.uk the woman answering the phone is a fake escort agency.
When I asked to meet at their office she said they are too busy for me to pop in to pay.
She said I would have to pay £249 into her bank account; she ignored my phone calls after I asked for the refund of my money.
FAKE ESCORT LICENCE
She said I needed a licence to work as an escort. She is a liar and a cheat as I've spoken to trading standards and they say if they are claiming to need a licence then they are breaking a serious law because a licence is not required and a licence needs to be regulated by the local authority.
www.7thheavenescorts.co.uk escort scam does not have authority to issue licences and have stolen my money and taking yours by pretending to need a fake escorts licence.
ASKING QUESTIONS
If you ask too many questions this woman will get ratty and start claiming every other company is a scam. She gets annoyed because you are not paying money into her account.

I have been directed to parttimejobs-uk.com and they are asking for an up-front "advertising" fee... I take it this is yet another scam site ??

Yes, scam. They know once they have your money, your chances of getting any work are almost nil.

Horribly designed site too.

Platinum Select

For women, they're a very bad place to advertise rather than an out and out scam like the others. (For men, they lie about the amount of work, so many would categorise them as a scam.) See the sw5.info/cons.htm page for more on them.

If you're looking for non-sexual escorting, there is nothing out there, I'm afraid.

Posted by Richard on 29 Apr 10

just checking to see if this is a reputable company, there is a fee for 3 months advertising £250.00 but then this has been put into a payment plane were I only have to pay £125.00 up front and pay the remaining on my fourth corporate event, i have had constant contact with the lady and have had several conversations and have sent pics off, im just worried to do the exchanging of money....what you think??

Posted by 2 is company on 05 May 10

I'm currently looking at *2 is Company* as well. They have asked me for £150, and then the remainder after my fourth or fifth event.

What is the situation on non-sexual companions, as I was told that that particular service was not required from them?

Am I wrong in all of this?

Posted by BlueBelle on 07 May 10

7th Heaven.
such a range of con artists, this is organised by several people, but once you hand your money over you never hear from them despite multiple calls, Why do the daily Star allow them to advertise ?*

Posted by Caroline on 17 May 10

Daily Star

Because they want the advertising revenue and they think their readers are morons.

Posted by Richard on 17 May 10

Interesting articles and many thanks for the thumbs up on the scams that seem to be doing the rounds. As a result I will not be paying an 'agency' the tidy sum of £350 for the supply of my details with photograph to these so called clients who want to pay to take a guy out to dinner or the theatre. Oddly enough and perhaps rather bizarre - I was pointed to the Scam by an unsolicited email from another Scammer! Ones to watch, Diamond Companions, Nights to Remember, Moonlight Encounters and Delightful Companions; their websites are almost identical and I have learned that there are possibly two more, linked to a holding company in Spain (no extradition, so you will never get your money back).... Big thanks to Leading Companions for spilling the beans!

Has anybody ever heard of a company called flirtasious.com? They say the have a booking ready for me and that all i have to do is pay the 12 months registration fee of 250 pound and to a given account then im ready to go, could anbody advice me on this?

Posted by sam on 28 May 10

Flirtasious

They are lying. Remember the basic 'is it a scam' rule below and see elsewhere here for more details.

I appiled for a event assistant job on total jobs and got 2 is company contacting me. they said they are a agency and they cater for company events and social events. they said that in the past they did not charge up front but clients cancelled last minute or when the car showed up for them on the day of the booking. They also claimed that they provide clothes for events, and that a driver would be nearby for the evnts to take you there and back home. I just worried after reading all these other companies if this is a scam. I have not parted with any money and they want to charge me £150 for 3 months advertising. There are 2 other options 6 months and 1 year. They have sent me there bank details etc and then ask we to call when I have done this. there number is 0844 8584890. Has anyone used this company before?

Posted by 2 is company on 05 Jun 10

Wouldn't touch it with a barge pole hun. I avoied them after reading up on this site. I want to give a big thank you to SW5 for warning me before I paid out.

Posted by Bluebelle on 08 Jun 10

I am signed up to Fleurs and what a SCAM. I have had calls for "Stuart" and he wanted me to travel a 3+hr drive after a "so-called" escort cancelled on him in about 2 hours notice? Wheres the logic? It seems that all his "so-called" clients are now-where near the area you'd like to work in. This has happened on numerous occasions now. To date I havent heard from him since. Does Fleurs still exist??

Posted by David on 09 Jun 10

David Above.
It's quite common for a client to hire an escort out of their area, just in case they bump into you in their own area causing embarrassment. I always hire an escort out of my area.

Your compliant is that you couldn't be bothered to get off your backside and make some sort of enthusiastic effort to attend to the clients needs.

It sounds as if Fleur or Stuart have done their job by offering you a client that had been let down by another agency.
They gave you an opportunity and you decided to come here to whinge.
If you were working for me and you couldn't be bothered to make an effort then I too would fire you.
It's pricks like you that give this country a bad name.

Posted by David Above on 10 Jun 10

Utter

Crap. Just by asking for money from the wannabe escorts, Fleurs exposes itself as a scam. Inventing urgent bookings ("You will make your 'membership' fee back if you take this booking..") in order to seal the deal is common. Expecting the victims to drive three hours is just pouring on the cynical criminal cruelty.

And in the real world, how many genuine agencies deal with such a large geographic area? Very, very few.

Posted by Clive on 07 Jul 10

Escort4everyone.com. Hi all, following on from my question earlier on here, I have been reading some write ups using Google as the search engine, and another forum has shown strongly that Escort4everyone.com is bad news.

Posted by Clive on 07 Jul 10

Escorts 4 Everyone

They pretend to be an agency, but they want money up front = they're a scam.

David - be glad you've only lost £50

Clive - hooray for doing some research before handing over anything.

The bad news for men who want to escort women is elsewhere: forget it, sadly. If you really think you can stand out amongst five thousand or so others, there are free places to advertise.

How do these companies get away with this? Isn't scamming illegal? There are so many of these scams running succeessfully, but not getting in trouble???? Masquerade tried the same thing with me, I told them I knew they were scammers...

Posted by Claire on 27 Jul 10

How come 2 is company are allowed to place ads all over legitimate websites where people are looking for jobs? Do none of these websites have any responsibility for ensuring that the companies they allow to advertise are not fleecing people? I have been asked for £250. All sounded very plausible on the phone, chatty, lots of questions, even pretended to go off and ask someone else about the number of reservations waiting in my area, then also said I could speak to someone in admin. Likely to all be the same people! I asked for contact numbers of clients and current companions so I could check it out. She said look at the website. I run a design and marketing company. I said anyone could set up a logo, website, fake testimionials in a day. I could. Do not base your decisions on a website or a LTd company reference. Their company have placed NO accounts yet and set up in 2009 so are likely to suddenly disappear before accounts are due... cant easily find the director names to check them out.

I was looking for some escort work of the non-sexual variety. So I came across *Diamond Companions*. Looked professional and respectable so I put my details in for them to give me a call back about details.
I missed a call from them the next day and they had left a voicemail with a number so I had called them back to find I had called up *Delightful Companions* instead. I was baffled as the lady had said she was calling from *Diamond Companions*. I appologized for getting the wrong number and put the phone down. I looked up the diamonds website and found a different number to the one I had been given in the voicemail. I was baffled but no alarm bells were ringing yet.
I called back and spoke to a man and he said he needed to find my details so would call me back and took my number. He didn't call me back so i sent them a message via their website for them to get back to me as I was still interested.
The next day I spoke to a lady called Naomi. I described myself to her (dress size, hair colour, eye colour, height, etc) and she said could I send a photo for potential clients in my area to see. So I sent 2 photos that day for the attention of Naomi to the site.
I got a call back next day from a Danielle saying that she had one client lined up for either tonight or tomorrow. She explained a bit about the client. 26yrs old, name of James, travels around a lot in Europe, doesn't like having dinner alone. She then asked if I wanted to accept the booking and I said yes. She then asked about payment. 250 quid for a profile with no picture just description for 12 months, 350 quid for a profile with 1 photo for 12 months, and there was another package of 6 photos for 450 quid for 18 months. *OUCH* I was thinking of the 500 quid I would be given by the client that very evening so I said probably the 350 quid package would suit me fine. I asked if it was possible to meet the client before I paid and then pay Diamonds. Danielle said they had tried that approach of doing the first booking without paying but people didn't come back after.
Danielle explained how to send the money off to *Western Union* to a *Louis Daniel Brennan* (the line manager of the day) and then when I got the code number to call Diamonds up. Then they would release my number to the client so he could call me and we could speak before meeting in the evening. I gave my address to Danielle to arrange a taxi to Woking where I was to meet the client. She then asked how long it would take for me to pay. I said about 2 hours max and that I would give her a call back.
I got to thinking it was too good to be true. A nice dinner with a nice sounding bloke who was going to be paying for my company no strings attached.
So I googled the company with my eyes half shut, half dreading what I knew in my heart I would find. SCAM SCAM SCAM. Nothing good about the company, just an endless amount of people who'd been ripped off by them.
I'm so glad I haven't paid anything because I havent got that sort of money to lose, but I'm disappointed that there seems to be no legit site out there. Then again, like this site says, what guy would pay for just the company of a woman and not whats in her knickers? No one. There's just no demand. Sex sells. Companionship does not.

Hi - can anyone tell me if this company 'Moonlight Encounters' is a scam please? I spoke to a lady yesterday who wanted money up front from £295 up to about £450 depending on the type of profile you wanted to place.

I was asked to email a photo over for 'regular' clients to view. I have not done so yet as reading the above just makes me think that they are all scams. Any advise please

Well having read this I see that "2 is company"is a scam.I applied on total jobs for events job £75/hr and Nikki called me back explaining a job from heaven -if you enjoy social work-i have varied career and top sales person for blue clip companies-I thought wow this is easy, but too good to be true and have to pay £250 up front.Sending some one to HO to check out and I have emailed total jobs-but no response yet-about scam and why do they allow this!!!Also checked company house and company under year old -no accounts filed to date. When i expressed concern about fee as not usual,I was put on to admin head who said she started this job 6 years ago and no fee then but now has to be due to drivers running off with money. So I guess this is a scam which I nearly fell for-horrid when you are out of work and need to ear money.!!!!

I got scammed by 2 companies.

Adora Belles and Experts In service.

Both companies wanted money put into western union.

THey said I would have to pay a registration fee, only when they found me work.

They found me work on the same day I spoke to them both.

With Adora Belles, I was on a train from outside of London when I called them to ask why the client hadn't rung like he was meant to and they told me he had been in a car accident. What B.S.!!

Now when I call them and ask who it is and I say "Jenna", they tell me the lines are busy and the booking area are not taking calls.

I lost 400 pounds. And it was borrowed money.

These people have to be exposed, how can they do that to people? People who need money desperately!

I sent a message to Nights To Remember via their site a week ago. Since then their agents have been calling me every day, asking me to call back. So I did and they explained that for 350 I would have 1 photo and a profile on their site but not to pay anything till someone was interested. Great, I thought. At 520 a pop, escorting with them held a lot of promise for me. The ladies I have spoken to are super nice, almost over nice, and very reassuring etc. So this morning - 24 hours after sending over a photo - I get a call to say that 'John' would like dinner and drinks with me today or tomorrow. I say, fine, tomorrow. She gives me some info about 'John' and says that once I have paid 350 plus 30 transfer fee into a western union account, she will give him my number and he will call to arrange venue etc. It all seemed too good to be true. If something seems too good to be true, it usually is. I said that I'd pay tomorrow morning, but having read these messages, I definitely won't!

i paid companionwork.com £250 only because they said you pay when you get your 1st job i paid went and got something nice to wear then on the morning of the job i received a call saying the gentleman had gone back to italy as there was a death in the family. this site even posts a profile on there web site for you and if you pay even more money to upgrade you also get to put up your picture this company should be exposes as i am just a single mother trying to make ends meet an through desperation borrowed money to give to this robbing scamming company.
