Paying the Price - Home Office consultation on (some bits of) sex work law

The long-awaited consultation paper was published on Friday 16th July and is now available on the Home Office's website. Their deadline for responses is 26th November 2004.

In the meantime... what do you think?

Large sections of this have to be one of the most patronising 'consultations' ever: "We're against child prostitution and sex slavery - please tell us just how right we are!?"

Fortunately there are some more interesting bits tucked away towards the back, like the question of legalising some brothels (even if they don't put it quite like that) and toleration zones for street workers.

Replied to two adverts in my local Citizen newspaper,(in Gloucester) one called masquerade escorts tel no:02070960059 and the other is called velvet escorts 0781218 1189 both want money up front and both claiming to have "social escort service" and "personal escort service" which involves clients paying for sex.
The first indication of a scam is no mention of their address. the second is the mention of a licence. YOU DONT NEED ONE... just ask your local concil (if you can get past the laughter)
